Those 1 AM Phone Calls

I hate to hear the phone ring in the wee hours, because I know that something is wrong.

Josh called at 1 AM to tell us that Cyrise thought she was going into labor. The baby is not due until the middle of June, so she needs to stay where she is for awhile longer! The kids called the doctor, who told them to come to the hospital. So they brought Reece and Aubrey to us.

Cyrise was in labor, but they were able to stop the contractions. She will be at the hospital for awhile longer today, but if all is well she will be able to come home this afternoon or this evening.

Reece had trouble going to sleep last night, excited by the middle of the night trip to Gramma's house, but he finally drifted off. I expect he will sleep late today. Aubrey woke up about 3 AM, looking confused. :o) She went back to sleep until around 7 AM. I changed her and gave her a bottle, and now she's asleep again. I didn't go to sleep until after 5 AM, so I'm going to be one sleepy gramma later today.

Josh called earlier to say that Cyrise finally went to sleep, and that he was going home to get some sleep, too. I told him to rest, go back to see her later and we will take the kids home when everything is calm and settled.

I'm so relieved that everything turned out okay. Please pray for mommy and baby, just in case. Thank you!

We will probably go to the evening Mass tonight instead of the noon TLM. I am thanking God for doctors and modern medicine!

Thank you for the prayers, Therese and Linda; they mean so much to us. All is well for now. Cyrise went back today for another steroid shot, which is supposed to help the baby's lungs develop faster. She has a history of delivering early. Her doctor told her to limit what she does, which is not easy with little ones around.
