Third Sunday After Easter

"Let us shout with joy to God; let us sing a psalm to His Name," because our Lord Jesus Christ is risen again and has given His life for us.
The Roman Missal, 1962

Today's Gospel is from Saint John 16. 16-22. Jesus gives wonderful consolation to the Apostles, assuring them that even though they will go through sorrowful times, in the end they will be filled with joy at the final coming of the Kingdom of Christ.

Antiphon at the Magnificat (John 16.20)
Amen, I say to you, that you shall lament and weep, but the world shall rejoice; and you shall be made sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy, alleuia.
