St. Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face

The Feast Day of St. Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face was changed from October 3rd to October 1st in 1969. I follow the 1962 Roman Missal, so I'm celebrating her feast day today. :o)

Marie-Francoise Martin was born at Alencon of parents most pious and endowed with a comfortable amount of the goods of this world. At the age of fifteen she entered the Carmel of Lisieux, living there in holiness and humility. Her whole ambition was to love God perfectly and to conquer souls for Jesus. She died in the odour of sanctity, promising to "spend her heaven in doing good upon earth." (1873-1897) His Holiness Pope Pius XI declared her Blessed on the 29th of April 1923, and canonised her on the 17th of March 1925. (The Roman Missal, 1962)

Please enjoy this brief video biography of St. Therese to learn more about her.

Thank you for posting this lovely video, Kalona. It was so interesting to see the wonderful photos of St. Therese.

Did you know that her relics are touring England right now? Thousands of people are visiting the pilgrimage sites. Maybe you were able to venerate the relics while they were in San Antonio.

Hi Rachel,
Unfortunately I didn't know about the relics being in SA. I'm sorry I missed that. I love St.Therese.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the video.
