Holiday Pics

We had an enjoyable Fourth of July. It was just Josh and his family, Gran and me and Ron.

We had ribs, corn on the cob, red skinned potato salad and this flag cake for dessert. I started to cut into the cake, then remembered I wanted to take a picture. Cyrise made it, and the little girls helped put the fruit on it. It's a Fourth of July tradition. :o)

The kids enjoyed the pool all day long, especially when Great Gran and I got in with them.

Josh and Cyrise took Reece to see the fireworks display in Schertz. The little girls didn't go; they were already in bed and asleep by 8:30.

Reece loved seeing them and told us all about it this morning.

I sat out on the patio, listening to music and enjoying the breeze. We have several hummingbirds visiting the feeders, and I loved watching them. Ron joined me there for awhile. We could hear the booms from the fireworks show.

It was a pleasant holiday.

Happy 4th sweet sister. Loved reading about your 4th of July.
I watched the fireworks in the little town of Kurtin, just outside of Bryan. Tomorrow I meet Kori half way and Jonah is staying the weekend with me. First time without his parents! Hope he does ok! Love & Hugs, Sandi

Glad you got to see fireworks, Sandi. I like small town displays.

I know you and Jonah will have a wonderful weekend together. I'm sure he will be fine--he will have his Honey all to himself! Have fun and give him a big hug for me. Love you!

I love that last picture of everyone in the inner tube! :) Sounds like y'all had a lot of fun. Mike and I took it easy, we drank some beers, grilled enough meat to last us the rest of the week and watched all the fireworks the neighbors set off. On the 4th, our neighborhood doesn't go as crazy with the fireworks as they do on New Years Eve but it was still really pretty!

I stored our grilled leftovers in a huge ziploc bag and last night Mike said "July 4th 2012, going down in history as the 4th of July with the bag o' meat!" He really does love his grilled food. We also had grilled veggie kabobs and grilled caramelized onions. Mmmm...

I love that picture, too, Kel. Cyrise took it with Josh's cell phone and it turned out great.

Sounds like you had a wonderful Fourth, too. A bag o' meat is a good outcome to the day. :o)
